From 3 August 2024, all new certificates of title in Victoria will be electronic titles.
Paper titles will no longer be available.
Since 2000, Victoria has been phasing out paper titles (pCTs), this is the next step in this journey and it will continue progress to streamline and modernise Victoria’s land administration.
Existing paper certificates of title will remain valid until they are next required for a conveyancing transaction.
What do these changes mean for you?
• Land and property owners do not need to do anything.
• There will no longer be the option to select a paper certificate of title in a conveyancing
transaction.
If you would like to know more or have any questions in relation to the phasing out of paper titles, please contact our property department to find out more.
